Malinau sits at the northern edge of Kalimantan, where the forest grows denser and the rivers run darker. This oil comes from a smoky forward distillation — a deliberate choice by the distiller that leaves its mark on every layer of the oil. Completely unlike the normal raspberry, vanilla, spiced notes of a normal Malinau oud oil. 

It opens green and alive — grassy, hay-like, and resinous, with a curtain of clean smoke rising behind it. Not the campfire aggression of a heavy smoke distillation — more like the first breath of incense in a cool stone room. Purposeful. Refined.

The heart is dense and woody, carrying the unmistakable green resinous character of malaccensis from deep Bornean interior — closer in soul to a fine Malaysian oud than to the sweeter, fruitier Kalimantan profiles. The dry down is smooth incense and dry hay, the smoke settling into something meditative and deeply calming.
